Art Palm Beach & Palm Beach Modern+Contemporary 2025: Expert Insights from a Palm Beach Art Consultant

Palm Beach Art Consultant's Guide to 2025's Premier Art Fairs

This year, West Palm Beach collectors welcomed back two of  Palm Beach County Convention Center most celebrated art fairs—Art Palm Beach and Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary. Traditionally scheduled back-to-back in February, these notable events took place a month apart this year, allowing each fair its own moment to shine at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

Art Advisory Insights: What Collectors Need to Know About the Palm Beach Art Scene

Though sharing a location and a common goal of connecting the community with art, the fairs provided distinctly unique experiences, highlighting different facets of the vibrant Palm Beach art scene.

Art Palm Beach: Elegant, Sophisticated, and Striking

Art Palm Beach is also the sister fair to the acclaimed LA Art Show, further reinforcing its prominence on the national art stage.

Organized by the esteemed Palm Beach Show Group, Art Palm Beach is part of a prestigious suite of events, including the Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show and the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show, which also takes place in February. As a longtime exhibitor at Art Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show before starting my own business, this year’s return was both nostalgic and invigorating.

This edition delivered a high-glamour experience with a gala-esque atmosphere where attendees dressed impressively, ready for an elegant evening immersed in art. The fan-favorite installation, Giovanni Casas' "The Big Birk," a giant bright yellow Birkin bag, captivated the audience instantly and became a playful, unforgettable icon. An interactive mixed-media installation further engaged attendees, blending contemporary presence with audience participation.

The curated galleries offered blue-chip, signature collection pieces that reflected quality and refinement. The DIVERSEartPB initiative expanded the dialogue through innovative, socially reflective installations:

  • Glasstress (Boca Raton Museum of Art): Murano glass animation by Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg.
  • MOCAA Museum: Over 100 ceramic plate works from artists across the Americas.
  • Danubiana Museum (Slovakia): Viktor Freso’s monumental 30-foot bear sculpture.
  • ReflectSpace Gallery & Culture Nomad: HanHo’s immersive installation "Eternal Light—21C The Last Judgment".

Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary: Vibrant, Accessible, and Diverse

Just a few weeks later, Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary returned with a distinctly different vibe—organized by the same team behind Art Miami, which anchors Miami Art Week each December. This fair leaned international, with a strong presence from Central and South American galleries and a refreshingly welcoming atmosphere. It was a family-friendly show that I comfortably attended with my children.

The fair’s approachable tone did not diminish its artistic quality. Instead, it offered an inviting experience for collectors and casual art lovers, showcasing diversity and vibrancy across mediums and cultures.

One particularly intriguing motif across both shows was the recurring subject of portraits of President Donald Trump. Whether portrayed with reverence, irony, or critique, his presence felt almost Warholian—pop-icon meets polarizing figure. It left me wondering: were artists driven by strategy, inspiration, or commentary? In any case, it was a provocative thread throughout.
