Ceiling Suspended Rope Screens & Custom Fiber Art Installation
The Bungalow by Gypsy | West Palm Beach, Florida
In Collaboration with V Starr Interiors
Art Firm partnered with V Starr Interiors to create a sculptural installation that defines The Bungalow by Gypsy, a concept retail space in Caroline Station, The Warehouse District, West Palm Beach. Our team designed, fabricated, and installed custom macro fiber and hide wall hangings suspended from the ceiling, transforming the industrial warehouse architecture with tactile elegance and warmth.
The installation unites fiber art with architectural integration, serving as a functional room divider and a modern textile sculpture. Designed for visual impact and longevity, this work adds richness, warmth, and movement to a retail environment.

Project Overview and Challenge
V Starr Interiors needed floor-to-ceiling rope screens in a 12-foot space, with uneven entry railings affecting visual flow. We created sculptural installations that delivered softness and flow while maintaining sightlines and function.
The result is a series of ceiling-hung fiber art panels, precisely crafted for permanent integration and enhancing the architecture.

Design Intent: Commercial Fiber Art with Organic Form
Starting with a single thumbnail reference from the client, we sourced 100% natural, four-strand braided cotton rope in a custom caramel hue, paired with camel-toned top-grain leather accents. This material palette established a warm, neutral rhythm that complemented the architectural shell.
Each panel features a unique placement of leather bands, creating an individualized pattern language that adds texture and depth. The rope flows organically from custom-stained oak header bars, with strands cascading to the floor in graceful alignment, evoking a sense of biophilic softness within a minimalist framework.

Engineering & Material Integration
Suspension details address the complexities of a warehouse environment. The use of oak beams, bronze chain, and hardware, each segment aligned with the existing beams. This design ensured that the installation felt intentionally integrated into the building’s architecture rather than superficially applied.
This installation delivers refined function and sculptural impact, meeting the demands of hospitality and retail interiors for texture, scale, and cohesion.

Design Development, Fabrication, and On-Site Testing
Our design process began with digital modeling by Principal Juliana Roslin and Designer Paola Ramirez, followed by shop drawings and a collaborative review with V Starr Interiors and Tracy Walker-Smith, the visionary behind The Bungalow.
During assembly at our Chattanooga fabrication studio, the rope density and threading had to be re-engineered at full scale. Our team conducted physical testing in-house to preserve the installation’s fullness and organic character. The revised scope required nearly twice the materials initially planned, especially given the caramel rope's exclusive nature.
Despite material sourcing delays, we delivered on schedule and achieved a smooth installation, meeting project goals.

Final Impact: Sculptural Room Divider Meets Modern Art Tapestry
The completed installation features a rhythmic series of rope segments, each with its own varied leather pattern design, creating visual depth and quiet movement. The rope cascades organically, draping downward until it gently touches the floor, a detail that adds refinement, softness, and a sense of natural grounding to the space.
The installation acts as both a room divider and a sculptural textile moment. It is functional without feeling utilitarian, artistic without overwhelming the space, and fully integrated into the warehouse's architectural character.
This solution demonstrates the impact of ceiling suspended rope screens for hotels, retail boutiques, and hospitality spaces seeking artistry, scale, and material richness.
